In this part-time role you will assist in the preparation of nutritious and high-quality meals for our residents in accordance with the Food Safety Program requirements.
Working as part of a talented Hospitality team, you will enhance the dining experience of our residents by sharing your culinary skills and championing our values. Your role as a Catering Assistant will contribute greatly to enriching the lives of our residents by ensuring appetizing and nutritious meals are provided, promoting a positive and enjoyable dining experience for all.
What are the key responsibilities?
* Food handling and preparation.
* Plating and serving of meals.
* Ensuring on-time delivery of quality meals.
* Basic record keeping (e.g. number of meals per day, missed meals) in consultation with the Chief Cook.
* Cleaning of dishes, kitchen workspace, equipment, utensils, and fixtures.
* Ensure kitchen and equipment is maintained in a safe, hygienic, and tidy manner.
What will you bring to the role?
* Experience working in Aged Care/Hospital commercial kitchen (desired).
* You will demonstrate compassion, sensitivity, and maturity to provide high-quality meals.
* Attention to detail and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
* Must be flexible with start time and days (including weekends).
* Good knowledge of food safety (preferably HACCP).
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively.
