About the role
Gold Road is seeking a highly skilled Principal Geologist - Business Development to join our Discovery team. Reporting directly to the Exploration Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, acquiring and developing exploration opportunities that significantly enhance the value and strategic options of Gold Roads Discovery portfolio.
The ideal person will drive value creation by identifying and capilatizing on high-potential exploration opportunities that have been previously unrecognised. This role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in our West Perth office with ad-hoc travel required.
Key Responsibilities
* Identifying and assessing exploration business development opportunities to enhance the discovery portfolio
* Providing technical expertise and conduct detailed data analysis to evaluate the potential of new opportunities
* Making strategic recommendations on early to advance-stage exploration projects
* Ensuring continuous replenishment of the exploration portfolio with high-potential opportunities
* Identifying and evaluate exploration business opportunities by conducting regional framework studies and synthesizing historical datasets
* Leading technical and non-technical due diligence on exploration opportunities
* Providing input in valuation and negotiation processes for commercial agreements
* Providing handover to project teams to ensure successful project execution
About yourself
With a solid understanding of exploration business development the ideal candidate will have:
* A higher degree in Geology or a related geoscientific discipline
* Extensive experience in the mining and exploration industry with predominant exposure to gold and gold related systems
* Broad knowledge of mineral systems targeting, along with the ability to analyse and interpret integrated geological and business development datasets
* Proven understanding of geological modelling and geostatistical resource estimation methods with direct experience in fold resource modelling
* An understanding of QAQC procedures and database management, drilling and sampling practices and advances methods in Geochemistry and geophysics for gold exploration
* Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills, adept at Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent problem-solving and reporting writing abilities.
