Position Information Karabar High School is a partially Selective High school on Ngambri and Ngunnawal lands in Queanbeyan, in the border region of NSW and the ACT. The school has a current enrolment of 945 students in years 7-12, including 9% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 8% English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). The school provides an inclusive and supportive environment that allows each student to develop to their potential with an academically selective stream Years 7-10, a Performing Arts stream in Stage 4 and six special education classes (MC, IM and Tutorial). Selection Criteria Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience in teaching students with Autism, Behaviour Difficulties, Moderate Intellectual Disability and complex needs including mental health. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with teachers, school support staff, students, parents and external agencies. Capacity to design and implement differentiated curriculum, and develop individualised learning, behaviour and wellbeing plans, to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students. Conditions The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply) An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
