We are seeking highly motivated, self-starters to join our team as a Project Engineer/Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager with at least 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role in our workshops at various locations across Australia. The criteria for this position is as outlined below:
Essential
* Experienced in engineering calculations design, reports, estimating, planning and management of the manufacture of heavy and high precision engineering equipment;
* Ability to manage multiple work fronts and execute the actions required within an ERP system;
* The ability to liaise effectively with customers and vendors;
* The ability to work and manage jobs as part of a team in high pressure situations.
* studying functional statements, organisational charts and project information to determine
* functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication;
* establishing work measurement programs and analysing work samples to develop standards for labour utilisation;
* analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies;
* designing mechanical equipment, machines, components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for construction;
* developing specifications for manufacture, and determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities and layout of plant and systems;
* organising and managing project labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment;
* establishing standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations;
* inspecting plant to ensure optimum performance is maintained;
* directing the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules.
* Receive customer enquiries regarding potential business on behalf of Hofmann Engineering and negotiate with the customer on behalf of the company.
* Respond to these enquiries by calculating prices based on labour and material estimators after considering specifications, drawings and appropriate customer information and communicating these prices and estimated delivery times to the customer according to Work Instruction PLA-001 and PLA-004 thereby committing the company to a legal contract.
* To carry out Contract Review in accordance with PLA-004.
* To prepare detailed scopes of work and issue job instructions according to PLA-001.
* To maintain document control procedures and drawing control procedures when issuing job instructions, when issuing external enquiries and when placing external purchase orders.
* Ensure the Safety Standards are adhered to and that safety is a prime consideration in planning work scopes.
* To schedule jobs with the objective of meeting quoted delivery dates.
* To monitor progress of all jobs you are managing, both internally and externally.
Qualification
* Associates at least an Australian bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree accredited by Engineers Australia;
* Trade or Engineering training of not less than 4 years.
* Proficient computer skills, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, CAM, Windows, Word and Excel;
* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports;
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork skills;
* Able to work with limited supervision, follow directions, willingness to learn and results oriented while maintaining attention to detail
