Job Description:
We are hiring a full-time Compounding Technician to join our sterile and/or non-sterile compounding pharmacy team on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Pharmacist-in-Charge, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing compounded medications (both sterile and/or non-sterile), maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality control, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also provide overall support to our pharmacists to deliver high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately compound medications based on prescriptions following strict guidelines and protocols.
* Maintain the cleanliness and sterility of the compounding workspace and equipment.
* Perform inventory management tasks, including ordering and stocking raw materials.
* Conduct quality control checks to ensure all compounded medications meet required standards.
* Assist pharmacists and team members in ensuring patient satisfaction and medication safety.
Requirements:
* Full working rights in Australia are essential.
* Previous experience in compounding (sterile and/or non-sterile) is highly regarded but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Strong ability to accurately follow formulation/recipe worksheets and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Good hand coordination and manual dexterity to perform compounding tasks effectively.
* Familiarity with pharmacy systems, WHS (Workplace Health and Safety) policies, and aseptic techniques is desirable.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to effectively interact with colleagues, patients, and clients.
* Willingness to adopt and learn new concepts, ideas, and procedures.
* Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment, including adherence to sterile technique protocols.
