SydneyIT & Telecomms Business Analyst: A Key Role in Cloud Cost Management
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior ICT Business Analyst to implement and manage comprehensive financial strategies, ensuring cost efficiency and driving financial accountability across Cloud and SaaS technology services. This role requires strong cloud cost management systems experience and the ability to work hybridly for 3 days per week in an office setting.
Responsibilities
* Enhance corporate and business systems by aligning processes with technical development and business life cycles.
* Conduct detailed commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making, evaluating financial performance, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights.
* Analyse and consolidate information to create business cases that support business objectives and provide effective ICT support, utilising analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and offer strategic recommendations.
* Develop and implement financial management practices to optimise Cloud and SaaS technology expenditures, including identifying cost trends and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Gather and document user requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis, ensuring comprehensive and accurate documentation.
* Lead the design, documentation, and development of financial requirements and functional specifications using financial models and analysis tools, ensuring alignment with business needs and financial strategies.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and strategic objectives.
Requirements
* Demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate effectively with stakeholders, SMEs, end users, suppliers, and project team members.
* Proven experience in conducting workshops with business and technical SMEs to elicit technical and financial requirements that support business and project needs.
* Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and cloud cost management systems.
* Demonstrated strong understanding of financial principles and practices, particularly in the context of Cloud and SaaS technology services.
* Ability to manage budgets, forecast financial performance, and implement financial strategies that optimise expenditures and drive cost efficiency.
* In-depth understanding of SaaS license models and thresholds that drive material changes in expenditure including managing relationships with service providers.
* Proven ability to analyse complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
