The regionally based Assistant Project Officer will support the Good Neighbours Program, focusing on pest and weed management at the interface between publicly managed and privately owned land. The role includes managing and undertaking operational activities, engaging with regional stakeholders (focus on public land managers), as well as administration, and monitoring project milestones to ensure project plans are on track.
Key Objectives:
* Enhance land manager skills in pest and weed management through extension, engagement and training.
* Foster collaboration between public and private land managers.
* Implement coordinated control activities.
* Improve data sharing and reporting transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support land managers to undertake pest and weed management activities.
* Assist in organising training, workshops, and communication campaigns.
* Support stakeholder engagement, including the development of on-ground projects.
* Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables align with timelines.
* Manage project records and databases.
* Balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Maintain stakeholder relationships.
* Keep up with pest and weed management methodologies.
The project is managed by the Programs and Partnerships Office within Local Land Services, with support from the enabling team, GIS and communications staff. The Assistant Project Officers will report directly to the Project Manager. These roles will deliver training, manage data, and support collaboration with public and private land managers.
