The agency comprises the Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service, and State Emergency Service, supporting volunteer groups in emergency response.
Purpose of the Role:
The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services require auxiliary firefighters to attend emergencies and incidents, promoting community safety and preparedness through education activities.
Key Requirements:
* Mandatory requirements: employer's written consent, Australian Permanent Resident Status, manual C Class driver's licence, and attendance at regular drill and training sessions.
* Attending 50% of calls as a day worker or 30% as a shift worker, obtaining an MRV licence within 12 months, participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, and complying with QFES policies and procedures.
Your Key Accountabilities:
* Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as a team member, promote community safety, develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses, and operate specialist firefighting equipment.
* Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, contribute to incident reporting, and uphold station administration.
