Boral Asphalt supplies high quality surfacing solutions for a wide range of Australian road and construction projects – from local road building and maintenance projects to highly complex major infrastructure programs including freeways, highways and airport runways. The Boral Asphalt business is made up of asphalt manufacturing plants, contracting and maintenance services, and spray seal services.
The General Manager – Asphalt NSW/ACT is a crucial Sydney based P&L role, with full accountability for the effective delivery and profitable growth of a diverse portfolio of asphalt projects across local, state and federal governments, as well as major projects.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you are a relationship driven and market oriented leader who "knows what good looks like" and will optimise the business. This will be achieved by a focus on identifying and seizing market opportunities, building a high performing team, effective resource allocation and excellence in project delivery.
You have a reputation as a respected and inspiring leader and will lead a team of two hundred plus staff. You will ultimately be responsible for developing and executing the businesses' short and long term strategic plans, as well as ensuring that business objectives for quality, safety and profitable performance are achieved.
The successful candidate will understand the business in a holistic way, be a proven leader who is commercially astute and effectively manages risk and complexity. Building capability within the business through an effective workforce development strategy, combined with coaching and mentoring will also be key success factors. Collaborating well with stakeholders and "owning" the relationships with a range of partners will be critical to expanding the footprint of the business and driving ambitious, sustainable growth.
You have a track record of delivering strong results in agile matrix environments, specifically in contracting, civil and/or industrial service-related operating environments. Clients and staff respect your excellent negotiation skills and unwavering commitment to safety. Your capabilities and experience are supported by relevant business qualifications.
