About the role
We are currently seeking an Allied Health Manager for a paediatric assessment service based out of Cairns.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Manage a multi-disciplinary team of 8 clinicians including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, dietitians and psychologists
2. Lead the service development and strategic direction of the new paediatric assessment service
3. Develop new policies and procedures
4. Provide culturally appropriate and evidence-based assessments to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
5. Improve health outcomes in regional Australia
6. Collaborate effectively with rural generalist teams
7. Manage and monitor budgets
8. Maintain appropriate staffing levels through staff retention, recruitment, workforce planning and credentialing
9. Manage safety and risk
10. Travel to regional and remote hospitals and clinics
To be successful in the role you will have:
1. Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Master of Psychology, Bachelor of Dietetics or similar
2. Current AHPRA or SPA or DA registration
3. Demonstrated experience leading a multi-disciplinary clinical team
4. Demonstrated experience managing a paediatric service
5. Demonstrated experience driving service development (preferred)
6. National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
7. Working with children check (or willing to obtain)
8. Willing to travel to regional or remote areas, including overnight stays
Competitive remuneration on offer:
* Between $140,000 and $147,000 plus super
* Up to $5,000 relocation allowance
* Superannuation contributions of 12.75% and salary packaging options
