The Opportunity
This Melbourne based, 12 month max term contract role, supports UniSuper to deliver greater retirement outcomes by creating a risk aware culture amongst the Marketing & Growth (M&G) department through embedded first-line risk management.
As UniSuper grows, you'll partner closely with the M&G Leadership Team and other departments to enable strong risk management and seize strategic opportunities.
As a Risk Manager you will collaborate with key stakeholders to strengthen controls and adopt new business processes through risk management oversight, controls assurance, testing and reporting as UniSuper's governance model matures.
Furthermore, you will be driving Risk Management capability amongst our team, building strong awareness of process improvement, risks and controls management.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring, oversight, and challenge across department, risk projects, incident, compliance management, remediation, and data quality of UniSuper's risk management system.
Supporting in monthly operational Marketing & Growth risk reporting.
Conducting control assurance and testing, monitor and report on risk activities such as incidents (breaches) and compliance obligations and prepare written reports for relevant committees.
Supporting Internal Audit and assurance testing activities in accordance with UniSuper's Assurance Map.
Understanding how change will be delivered into the business and ensure risks arising are assessed and effectively managed.
Working closely across Marketing & Growth teams (Product, Business Development & Employer Partnerships, Marketing, Digital...) to support achieving business unit objectives.
About You
In this exciting new role, you will be an integral part of the transformative journey that shapes how we deliver exceptional customer experiences and where our customers need us most.
For this reason, we are looking for someone who has experience working in a fast moving transformation environment and is comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity.
You will have extensive Risk Management experience with a very high degree of listening, engagement, and rapid adaptive delivery skills.
With a strong understanding of risk management frameworks and experience adapting them to specific organizational needs, you will also hold the following experience and skills:
Demonstrated experience in banking/financial services/other relevant experience coupled with a strong operational risk management background across Line 1 environments.
Extensive experience in controls and process management paired with managing audit and assurance activities across either Line 1 or risk environments.
Influencing and consulting skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels; ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to achieve risk / assurance outcomes.
Experience delivering reports and associated insights to all levels of management (operational and strategic) Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working within Line 1 or 2 Risk.
