Graduate/early career opportunity in South-West WAPermanent opportunityGreat internal culturePlanning Officer required for a permanent opportunity in South-West WA.Your new companyHays are partnering with a Government department in the Bussleton area who are looking for a Planning Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.This is a great opportunity for a recent Graduate/Early Career Planner looking to join a supportive and inclusive organisation working on a range of exciting projects.Your new roleThe Planning Officer is responsible for supporting the Senior Planning Officer in ensuring that the Council meets their planning obligations and provides a high-quality service whilst adhering to applicable policies and laws.The main responsibilities of the role include:Strategic planning - support the Senior Planning Officer in undertaking strategic planning tasks including amending schemes, creating local planning policies, delivering development contribution plans, preserving council heritage, creating local community strategies, conducting studies and addressing land use/development concerns.Assist with undertaking statutory planning processes in accordance with relevant planning frameworks, laws, acts, regulations and policies including: assessing development applications, DAP applications, preparing RARs, assessing subdivision applications and process clearances, assessing local structure plans, precinct plans and local development plans.Respond to complaints, investigating non-compliance with planning legislation.Conduct compliance assessments including site visits and reporting.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, consultants and landowners.What you'll need to succeedTertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or similar equivalent.Strong research, evaluation and report-writing abilities.3+ years of experience working in statutory and/or strategic planning within local government.Exposure to the local government planning processes in building, public health, environmental management and engineering.Working knowledge of WA town planning legislation.C Class Drivers Licence.What you'll get in returnWork for a reputable Local Government.Permanent opportunity working on a range of exciting projects.Great environment.What you need to do nowReach out to me now for a copy of the full job description - ****** 08 9254 4594.If you are looking for a new opportunity but this one does not fit your needs, reach out now for a chat.Desired Skills and ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or similar equivalent.Strong research, evaluation and report-writing abilities.Working knowledge of WA town planning legislation.C Class Drivers Licence.Full eligibility to work for a WA Government Department.#J-18808-Ljbffr
