We ensure diversity is celebrated for the opportunity it provides us all to learn and grow, and deliver better outcomes for members.Make a difference delivering outcomes for our millions of membersDrive a risk training and culture uplift within Strategy & Corporate Affairs12 month contract based in MelbourneYour new roleReporting to the Senior Manager, Governance, Risk & Accountability, the Senior Risk Analyst is a key member of AustralianSuper’s Strategy & Corporate Affairs team, and broader Risk community across the Fund.This 1st line role is responsible for operationalising the Three Lines of Accountability within Strategy & Corporate Affairs; supporting the delivery of the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR); and ensuring the Strategy & Corporate Affairs group meet their 1st line risk management, audit and assurance obligations.This position is also responsible for role modelling and driving a sound risk culture across the Strategy & Corporate Affairs group and with key stakeholders.This role requires significant influence and collaboration skills, as the successful candidate will work in partnership with all functions of Strategy & Corporate Affairs, Group Risk and other 1st line functions across the Fund to achieve the desired outcomes. They will also work with other key stakeholders, including Board Sub-Committees, internal and external Auditors and 3rd party partners/suppliers, where required.This role is crucial in assisting the business to excel in fundamental practices, ensuring stakeholder quality self-assessment and Line 1 testing, and enhancing awareness and training for risk and control owners. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in making the business more independent, structured, and robust in risk practices in the long term. A bonus would be a candidate with obligation management skills.This is a 12 month contract role based in our Melbourne office.Key responsibilities include:Developing and implementing risk training programs and awareness campaignsCollaborating with the three lines of accountability to meet annual assurance requirements, this includes designing, delivering, and coordinating control assurance plans amongst three linesImplementing strong risk controls on processes, policies and systems to ensure breaches are limitedConducting gap analysis and recommending opportunities for control improvement and upliftFacilitating and coordinating risk workshops and consultationsPreparing comprehensive risk assessments and draft recommendationsEnsuring risk profiles are consistently reviewed and updatedFacilitating regular risk reporting and ensuring timely communication of monitoring programsAssisting in the provision of reporting requirements for various functions including e.g. S&CA Leadership, Executive team, Board Committees and the Board on relevant short and long-term trends, performance and specific projects, risks, opportunities and challengesWorking with colleagues across Strategy & Corporate Affairs, monitoring and overseeing completion of open incidents in GRC by assigned owners including root cause analysis and any control weaknessesFacilitating obligation management, including change considerations, control mapping, and periodical preliminary assessments.What you’ll needSeveral years’ experience in risk management and/or regulatory compliance, ideally working in the Superannuation industry, or at least Financial ServicesProven ability to contribute to strategic initiativesStrong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworksStrong communication/presentation/reporting skills and ability to influenceStrong reporting, analytical skills and attention to detailAn ability to analyse trends, diagnose problems and issues and then recommend actions dealing with underlying root causesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and prioritise work accordinglyExperience in developing relationships with key stakeholders from a variety of levelsExperience working with government representatives and/or regulators desirableTertiary qualification in financial services, superannuation and risk managementUndertaking post graduate studies or industry-based accreditation an advantage.Life at AustralianSuperAustralianSuper is committed to colleague development, and we support our people with ongoing learning, coaching and training, as well as career opportunities across our expanding global organisation.
