Location: Ipswich, QM Rail Workshop
The Visitor Experience Supervisor will lead the Visitor Experience team to deliver a memorable visitor experience - one that leaves every visitor feeling inspired, enriched and empowered.
You will also oversee the safety and security of visitors, exhibitions and the building. This includes ensuring Conditions of Entry are adhered to and implementing emergency management procedures.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
A day on the job can include greeting visitors, walking the floor of the Museum and Railway Park, providing administration support for Commercial and Experience, giving highlight tours, and setting up and packing down spaces as required.
The Visitor Experience Supervisor will:
* Lead the delivery of day-to-day front-of-house operations including customer service, safety and security to create a seamless, consistent and compelling visitor experience.
* Ensure the delivery of exceptional, proactive customer service to both visitors and clients.
* Supervise daily workloads at an operational level for all of museum including Team Leaders and Visitor Experience Officers, Cafe team, and liaise with onsite contractors as required.
* Respond to public enquiries and resolve people, building and equipment issues in a timely and professional manner.
* Lead safety and security operations pertaining to visitor/staff wellbeing, evacuation, crowd control and the protection of exhibition content.
* Work constructively to support the efficient delivery of facilities, functions, events and programs.
* Create a collaborative, positive and inclusive team culture by facilitating open communication, providing regular feedback to staff and resolving issues in a proactive and timely manner while adhering to approved procedures.
* Participate in event debriefs, evaluations and cross-departmental meetings as delegated to support the improvement of the Museum's visitor experience.
* Undertake a range of administrative duties, as directed, to support visitor experience.
* In collaboration with the Experience and Commercial Manager, devise and implement policies and procedures for front-of-house operations and training
* Comply with QM policies, procedures and appropriate legislation including a commitment to creating a child safe and youth friendly learning environment
* Contribute to the safety culture of QM by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QM Risk and Compliance policies and/or procedures and guidelines relevant to the job and Queensland Museum operations.
