Position Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled Public Domain Designer to join the Strategic Planning team at Inner West Council. This position plays a key role in planning and designing public spaces across the region, including streets, lanes, plazas, and publicly accessible private lands. You will contribute to developing strategies, master plans, and concept designs that align with the Council's sustainability and social objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and process complex public domain proposals in line with Council policies and design requirements Develop design concepts and work with consultants to provide expert advice on public domain matters Analyse, implement, and manage public domain projects within the NSW legislative framework Respond to requests for advice on public domain issues Manage and coordinate specialised projects with multidisciplinary teams Assist with grant applications, capital works scoping, and budgeting for new public domain initiatives Essential Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture, or related field Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in landscape architecture or urban design Strong communication and presentation skills Experience developing planning policies, strategies, and implementation plans for public spaces Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office Ability to think innovatively and solve complex issues Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service Desirable Criteria: Postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields such as project management or urban design Knowledge of local government frameworks related to public domain policies To Apply:
