We are seeking Front-End Software Engineers to design and implement high-performance, secure, and scalable user interfaces for mission-critical defence applications.These roles involve developing modern front-end applications that enable intuitive interaction with complex data and systems. We value diverse experiences and perspectives and assess candidates holistically based on their skills and potential.More Specifically, You Will:Develop and maintain mission-critical front-end applications for defence systems, supporting situational awareness, data analysis, and command-and-control interfaces.Develop scalable front-end architectures that support modular, extensible, and secure defence applications, ensuring usability, efficiency, and responsiveness in high-stakes environments.Implement and optimise user interfaces that integrate with back-end services via RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and message brokers (e.g., Kafka).Collaborate with systems engineers, data analysts, and domain specialists to refine user requirements and translate complex operational needs into functional, efficient interfaces.Develop robust front-end testing strategies, including automated unit and integration testing, to ensure system reliability.Contribute to the integration of front-end applications within a containerised microservices architecture using Docker and Kubernetes.Stay up to date with emerging front-end technologies and defence software engineering best practices, advocating for their adoption where beneficial.About YouAt DEWC Services, we value integrity, passion, and self-motivation in line with our company values above all else. However, at a minimum, you will have:Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Proven experience in front-end development, with strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like Angular, Vue, or Svelte.Strong understanding of front-end performance optimisation and security best practices.Experience working with APIs, including RESTful services, WebSockets, and messaging protocols.Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).Understanding of DevOps principles related to front-end development, such as CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.Current or reinstatable AGSVA security clearance (highly desirable).*Please note, you must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Government Security Clearance.
