Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training)The Head of Year is responsible to the Deputy Principal Secondary, for the leadership of a specific year group and for the development and maintenance across the College Community of a shared understanding of, and commitment to, the enhancement of student learning, faith and wellbeing. This role contributes actively as a member of the Middle Leadership Team to key strategic policy and management decisions relating to the learning and wellbeing of all students. It seeks to embed a culture of inclusion, high expectations for student achievement and student gains.The Head of Year provides significant pastoral and academic leadership within the College. They are responsible for the effective operation of a Year Group and co-responsible for the overall wellbeing, learning and faith development of the students in the cohort. Central to the role of Head of Year is knowing the students and their families, monitoring, challenging and advising students informed by the College’s Vision for Learning, Ministry Plan and Strategic Plan.Our College is spread over three beautiful campuses, Marcellin (Secondary School), Lavalla (Years 3-6) and Marian (Kindy – Year 2), home to approximately 1800 students and 250 staff.We are a PK-12 Catholic School, educating in the Marist Tradition, which endeavours to lead students to know and love Jesus Christ.
