With six offices nationally and partner firms in more than 145 markets, wherever you want to go, we can take you there.About this roleOur Corporate Tax team offers a nurturing environment in which your capability will not only be recognised and rewarded, but also supported as you meet and excel in your career milestones.The team's leaders are committed to your ongoing development, focusing holistically on technical compliance and advisory skills as well as interpersonal and commercial competencies such as leadership, management, and presentation skills.In addition to those with prior experience in Corporate Tax, we also encourage applications from those with Private Advisory (Business Services) experience who want to deepen their expertise in technical taxation matters and work with large-scale corporate clients.Key responsibilitiesResearch and assistance with tax consulting advice (such as tax consolidation, tax treaties, hybrid mismatches, Controlled Foreign Companies, withholding taxes, thin capitalisation, permanent establishments, AMITs etc.)Preparation of company and trust tax returns, including consolidated company tax returns, for a wide range of large corporate clientsPreparation and review of tax-effect accounting calculationsResearch and assistance with preparing advice and calculations in connection with international tax issuesAssist clients with M&A activities, including tax structuring and tax due diligence servicesAssist clients with ATO reviews, governance matters and audits, as well as liaising with the ATO to obtain rulings for clientsResearch and analysis of technical tax issues and preparation of tax reportsAssistance with business development initiatives and proposals, including preparing for and attending meetings with clientsSkills and experienceRequiredTertiary and / or professional qualification(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)Previous tax accounting experience gained within a professional services environment, as well as a keen interest in technical tax issuesAnalytical skills and an inquisitive mindset, with a desire to deeply understand clients' businesses, challenges and confidence in applying knowledge to routine mattersDemonstrable strong work ethic and commitment to excellent client serviceProfessional accreditation(s) such as CA, CPA, CTA or equivalent overseas certification(s)If you are interested in this role but don't feel that you match every single one of our requirements, we would still love to hear from you and explore the unique skillset and attributes that you can bring to the team.At Grant Thornton we do things differently because we understand that when you strive for better and care about what you do remarkable things are possible.
