About the job – Industry Advisor
ICN NT plays a pivotal role in promoting and facilitating major projects and driving economic development across the Northern Territory. Our clients and projects cover all major sectors including Government, Defence, construction, Oil & Gas, mining and renewables.
We are seeking an Industry Advisor to support the connection of local businesses with opportunities across the Northern Territory. In this role, you will contribute to the development of major projects and play an important part in strengthening local capability and industry capacity. This will help ensure Territory businesses are well-positioned to engage with and benefit from emerging opportunities.
Responsibilities:
1. Engage with and support local businesses to understand their capabilities and needs.
2. Promote the capabilities of Northern Territory businesses to local, interstate and international stakeholders, including government and private sector organisations.
3. Identify and connect suitable local suppliers to major projects.
4. Foster ongoing relationships with suppliers and project proponents to support collaboration.
5. Maintain and update business data in a CRM for internal and client reporting.
6. Help to map supply chains to influence strategies and frameworks for new and emerging industries.
7. Increase awareness of ICN NT and promote local industry by attending networking events, forums and industry briefings.
8. Maintain strong industry knowledge through ongoing engagement with government and industry networks.
Skills and experience:
1. Experience working with industry, trade or supply chain networks.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.
3. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, project proponents and key industry stakeholders.
4. Understanding of local industry capabilities, trends and opportunities, particularly in relation to regional projects and economic development.
5. Strong analytical skills to assess industry capabilities and provide practical advice based on project needs.
6. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a small dynamic team.
Preferred skills and experience:
1. Research and report-writing skills to present clear and practical advice.
2. Ability to manage and analyse data using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
3. A background in Project Management or Business Development.
