Job Description - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
An exciting opportunity has become available in our Rockhampton Workshop for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. This fantastic opportunity could be a full-time or part-time permanent role, ideal for someone looking to make the role their own. Our workshops are the core of our network, playing a critical role in ensuring our vehicles operate safely across Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Routine Maintenance: Conducting regular maintenance checks and servicing to ensure fleet remains at compliance standards.
* Diagnostics: Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems. This includes reading and interpreting error codes and symptoms.
* Repairs: Performing repairs on mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and suspension systems. This involves replacing faulty parts or components.
* Safety Inspections: Conducting safety inspections to ensure that all systems and components meet safety standards and regulations. This includes checking brakes, lights, and other critical systems.
* Documentation: Keeping detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
* Operational Interaction: Communicating with operational leaders, and occasionally drivers, to ensure work is completed within timelines.
* Compliance: Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance work complies with industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and NHVR regulations.

Requirements:
* Hold a valid qualification for the repair and maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles (Certificate III in HV Mechanical Technology)
* Proof of experience within the Heavy Diesel repair industry.
* Excellent time management skills, ability to plan your workload & required parts.
* Dedicated commitment to Safety & Quality Assurance Policies.
This role involves repairing new trucks, including Kenworth, Mack, Volvo, Isuzu, and UD, to complete routine servicing, diagnosing and maintenance. Our workshops are open day and night, providing more flexibility to work on a shift that suits your lifestyle.
