About the Role The Business Development Consultant, within the Broker Support Team, plays a key role in supporting our Broker partners with home lending application queries and assisting Business Development Managers/Consultants across Broker Partnerships. This includes managing incoming phone calls and emails, particularly during peak periods as well as supporting annual leave within teams across the country.You will provide guidance on loan scenarios and policy-related questions when Business Development Managers (BDMs) are unavailable, as well as Pricing requests and some portfolio management. While this role does not have a dedicated broker portfolio, you will be responsible for managing various broker relationships on a day-to-day basis, ensuring a seamless experience and strong business outcomes. Additionally, the role will provide support to the Accreditations Team by assisting with the processing of Broker Accreditations when required and can at times assist with onboarding new brokers by ensuring they understand the bank's processes and accreditation requirements. Attendance to Broker Visits and Professional Development (PD) Days to support relationship management and business growth also makes up part of the duties of this role. What will your day look like? As a Business Development Consultant, your accountabilities include:Handle incoming phone calls and email inquiries from Brokers regarding home lending applications.Assist Brokers with queries throughout the home lending process, from post-lodgement to settlement, ensuring they are supported at all milestones.Provide post-settlement support for general maintenance of settled home lending applications when required.Address scenario and policy-related questions when nationwide BDMs are unavailable.Support the Broker Partnerships and Broker Support Team, including Business Development Managers, Business Development Consultants, and State Managers.Assist the Accreditations Team with Broker Accreditation processing when needed. To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:Understanding of the Australian Financial IndustryExperience in Contact Centre or Retail (customer facing or phone)Banking &/or Lending experienceDemonstrable experience with operation processes and systems (e.g. CBP/Ignite, Hogan, SunLoans, SunLink, ALLFI, Apply Online, Salesforce etc)Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong knowledge of home lending applications and broker processesProblem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to collaborate effectively across teamsYou're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
