$131,671 to $151,624 per annum (Level C)
$158,269 to $174,225 per annum (Level D)
$203,487 per annum (Level E)
Plus 17% employer superannuation

4 weeks annual leave plus Christmas week shutdown, per annum
Available for remote, flexible, work from home or hybrid

About the role
As the Strategic Program Lead you will be responsible for the coordination of Manna Institute's future funding opportunities, research team coordination and grant writing, and to support the Director in shaping the Institute's future sustainability. The incumbent will be self-directed and have a strong track record in securing research grant funds and coordinating large teams, be a team player and have regional, rural and remote mental health research sector interest, knowledge and expertise.
This newly created position will be responsible for direction and development of Manna Institute's future funding opportunities. It will provide strategic support to ensure that all grant applications are co-designed and managed effectively and will work closely and guide decision makers.
This role will suit someone who thrives on designing and managing teams to collaborate with others to have a real impact in regional, rural and remote mental health research.

A deep desire to further your research career in mental health focused on projects that are place-based, collaborative and seek to solve complex challenges for rural Australia.
Robust history of bringing together diverse teams to focus on a common goal and working on the development toward achieving these goals across time.
You will be familiar with funding opportunities and able to discern the best opportunities to achieve Manna Institute's strategic aims.
You will be committed to principles of co-creation and inclusion of First Nations perspectives, people with lived and living experiences of mental ill-health and working with industry to achieve real world impact.
About Manna Institute
UNE is the lead institution for Manna Institute, a virtual research institute dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing in rural, regional and remote Australia. It supports meaningful, translatable place-based research and fosters the development of professional mental health researchers and aligned workforces.
Manna brings together leading mental health researchers from seven universities in the Regional Universities Network (RUN) - Charles Sturt University, Central Queensland University, Federation University, Southern Cross University, the University of Southern Queensland, the University of Sunshine Coast and UNE. Manna Institute's work tackles the impacts of the changing environment, systemic and geographic inequities, and challenges of delivering mental health supports throughout the vast Australian landscape. Their five mental health research streams focus on child, youth and family; physical activity; ageing and disability; climate change and the environment and distress and suicide prevention. Each stream is a collaboration of researchers from multiple universities, First Nations and Lived Experience representatives, and community and industry partners from partner organisations including Foundation partners Everymind, Lifeline Direct and the Australian National University's Centre for Mental Health Research.
