As the leader of Adbri's centralised accounting function, this position oversees management and statutory accounting and the provision of governance services across Adbri providing transparent financial insights that enable agile decision-making and value creation.We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented Financial Controller to lead our dynamic finance team. Reporting to the General Manager Finance, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, governance and reporting for the organisation and its subsidiaries. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, financial acumen, communication skills and unwavering integrity.As our Financial Controller you willProvide comprehensive accounting and governance services to multiple divisions and shareholders, improving financial transparency, consistency and decision-making through timely and accurate reporting.Lead a large team, setting clear expectations and accountability for a results-driven culture. Foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with Group financial strategies and goals.Oversee statutory reporting, consolidations and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.Manage accurate financial reporting for leases, overheads, fixed assets and other key transactions in alignment with IFRS and USGAAP standards.Strengthen financial controls by improving balance sheet governance and ensuring adherence to SOX compliance and internal risk mitigation processes.Lead the month-end close process, driving cost control measures, timely accruals and comprehensive financial performance monitoring to meet budget and forecast targets.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including external auditors, project leaders and senior leadership, to ensure alignment and smooth operations.Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial insights.Qualifications and ExperienceComprehensive management and statutory reporting expertise and CPA, CA or an equivalent professional qualification is essential.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.A minimum of 10+ years of senior management experience within a finance function, ideally in an ASX-listed company or multinational organisation.Proven experience in a controllership role, with strong knowledge of SOX compliance, statutory reporting, and management reporting.Previous experience in portfolio management and economic assessments is highly desirable.Expertise in the manufacturing and/or mining sectors would be an advantage.Key Skills and AttributesExceptional technical accounting skills with advanced proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office and Power BI.Proven ability to analyse complex information and distil it into clear, actionable insights for effective decision-making.Demonstrated capability to drive and streamline financial processes and procedures, improving overall efficiency and effectiveness.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, executives, and shareholders.Significant experience in change management and fostering collaboration.A strong team player who can inspire and engage team members while maintaining focus on organisational goals.Proven ability to manage relationships and handle conflicts with sensitivity and professionalism.About UsAdbri is a leading Australian building materials company and trusted supplier of innovative products for the construction industry, offering a wide range of cement, lime, concrete and aggregate products.
