Who you are You will be a motivated professional, committed to creating opportunities for First Nations people to access higher education through UniSQ, with a strong connection to the local Toowoomba community, Southwest and Darling Downs regions particularly with schools and organisations. What you'll do Assist in strengthening the relationships and trust between UniSQ and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, languages, histories and cultural representation in the built environment. Provide support in the promotion of UniSQ as a provider of first choice in higher education pathways for First Nations peoples by developing culturally relevant messages that promote cultural safety, improve community understanding of UniSQ learning services and course offerings, and result in increased numbers of First Nations UniSQ applications, offers and acceptance rates. Plan, deliver and evaluate events, programs and initiatives that support engagement with First Nations communities, organisations, business and school students, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. What will help you succeed In addition to your relevant education and experience, key to your success in this role will be your ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Including a sound knowledge and understanding of both cultures and societies, and an ability to build rapport with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and communities. You will also need to possess a high level of organisational and communication skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes in this role.
