Its members own or manage a $3 billion portfolio of 11,000 social and affordable rental homes across the State.The housing crisis continues to impact individuals and families in communities across Queensland. There is a commitment from the Government to increase supply across all parts of the housing including an ambitious plan for 53, 500 new social homes over the next 20 years.The community housing industry is poised for growth. Community housing providers rely on CHIA Queensland to engage with, influence and lead government in the design of solutions to increase the supply of social and affordable housing and build a robust, sustainable industry.The Chief Executive Officer works with a high level of autonomy in the execution of strategy set in partnership with the Board. The Board is made up of elected member representatives and has an Independent Chair. As a small organisation, the Executive Officer will be able to master the art of leveraging collaboration and partnerships with members and other stakeholders to achieve results.As a member-based organisation, the core role of the Chief Executive Officer is to engage and understand member needs and exercise influence across all stakeholders to take advantage of opportunities presented to the sector during this time of growth. The key to success here is the strength of relationships at all levels, and the ability to develop sound, practical and evidence-based advice and policy.The key priorities of the role over the next 18 months are: Strengthen partnerships and relationships with governments, members, other peak bodies and across related industry sectors in Queensland. Progress the strategic plan goals, deliver the funded action plan, and negotiate the next 5-year funding Agreement. Position the organisation and its members as an integral part of the housing solution and deliver progress on the CHIA election statement with the incoming government. The role is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis through to June 2026.
