The RoleWe are seeking to engage an experienced leader for the pivotal role of Area Manager to join our team in Perth. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing visible leadership in growing the Perth business, collaborating with state and national sector leads, executing the Area-based operational plan, driving business strategy and development and client relationship activities across sectors, as well as the sound commercial management of budgets and implementing people practices that motivate teams to perform optimally.
In addition to the above, the Area Manager is a key client contact for significant area-based opportunities and works closely with Group and Market Directors to scope opportunity, assign resourcing and deliver on outcomes. Ideally, you will have significant experience operating in the Transport market in either Road or Rail; however, experience in other sectors is welcome.
You'll mentor and support Local Sector Managers in the provision of client-facing activities and provide pastoral care activities to all Area staff where relevant and will have key accountabilities in resource and office utilisation, cost management and winning new work.
ResponsibilitiesProviding inspiring leadership and support to Area personnel in conjunction with market and sector management, including pastoral care, to achieve cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development;Actively collaborate with state and national sector leadership to ensure the Western Australian business forms an integral part of SMEC's ANZ operations;Ensuring effective strategic planning, implementation, execution and monitoring across the Area;Working with National Managers to achieve sustainable business growth across the Area and Nationally through targeted client relationship management and business development activities according to national priorities;Working with the ANZ Manager – Operations Support to oversee all significant internal assets, significant purchasing and facilities decisions;Taking accountability for or transition project governance and other client service imperatives that occur within the area office to the relevant market sector personnel.About YouSuitable applicants will have:
