Position Information Glenmore Park High School is a modern co-educational, comprehensive high school in Western Sydney located in a community experiencing significant growth. The school has an enrolment of 980 students, 8% Aboriginal and includes a special education unit of eight classes. The school provides excellent opportunities for individual student success in a caring educational environment. The school has extremely strong connections with partner primary and secondary schools, Western Sydney University (WSU), our local Aboriginal Education Group and the wider business community. Selection Criteria Approval to teach Secondary Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education. Capacity to provide an innovative and creative approach to promoting and managing a library that functions as a 21st century learning hub for the school, supporting teaching and learning across all KLA's. Capacity to contribute to whole school programs to develop a culture of reading, literacy, research skills and critical thinking. Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents and the wider school community. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. Special Notes If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
