Each year we support approximately 19,500 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and 600 births. Griffith Base Hospital provides a 24 hour Emergency Department (ED) with 15 ED spaces, supported by an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team in Griffith with specialists across the NSW Critical Care Advisory Service.What you'll be doingA Visiting Medical Officer is required to provide non-procedural GP services at Griffith Base Hospital. The VMO will provide a high level of clinical care to patients and participate in the on-call roster. Murrumbidgee Local Health District requires Visiting Medical Officers to participate in service and policy development as well as involvement with education, training and quality project activities. In accepting the position, the incumbent will agree to support core NSW public sector values of cultural diversity, equity and ethical practice, and a healthy, safe and fair workplace.Minimum RequirementsCurrent Registration: MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner.Minimum three (3) years post-graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology or Rural Medicine an advantage.Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
