This hand-built timber brigantine is the pride of South Australia, operated by the registered not-for-profit charity - Friends of the One and All Sailing Ship Inc.
For close to 40 years, this ship has been providing experiences in tourism, corporate, education, with the main focus on youth programs through sailing expeditions.
You will be working collaboratively with the volunteer maintenance team while in port, but also with volunteers and paid voyage crew at sea, reporting directly to the Ship Manager.
This position requires hands-on maintenance work at sea and ashore.
The successful applicant must take responsibility for the following:
General monitoring of mechanical systems on the vessel (engines, refrigeration, air conditioning, desalination, etc.
)Record keeping of all repairs and services digitally/log booksGeneral monitoring of fixtures & fittings (e.g., plumbing & lighting)Undertake preventative maintenanceEssential to be competent in required vessel documentation relevant to AMSA requirementsThese requirements are essential: MED 2Tallship experience (preferred but not essential)Valid Driver's LicenseSupport from the previous Engineer with induction and handover will be provided to the successful applicant.
Pay for the role is consistent with the provisions of the Marine Tourism and Charter Vessels Award.
