About the Role We’re looking for a detail-driven and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Brisbane-based Finance team. In this hands-on role, you’ll support a wide range of accounting functions, helping to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our financial operations. You’ll play a key part in maintaining financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring our financial practices align with internal policies and external regulations. What You’ll Be Doing Assist with daily accounting functions including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable processing Support month-end and year-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and compliance. Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, and customer balances. Assist with payroll data entry and reconciliations. Help prepare BAS, GST and support other statutory requirements. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Provide support across internal reporting and financial system maintenance. Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve financial queries and support continuous process improvements. What You’ll Bring Sound understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Experience in transactional accounting (AP, AR, reconciliations). Proficiency in Google Sheets and accounting platforms. Strong organisational and communication skills. A collaborative mindset and proactive work ethic. Exposure to month-end and year-end reporting processes is highly regarded. Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, understanding of payroll, tax, audit, and compliance processes.
