About the Role
The Technical Writer plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality Information and Communications Technology (ICT) documentation by translating complex technical information into clear, accessible content for stakeholders. This position collaborates closely with subject matter experts to develop, edit, and maintain technical documents, ensuring consistency with established documentation standards. The role involves creating user manuals, technical guides, and diagrams that simplify technical concepts, making them easily understandable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
In addition to writing and editing, the Technical Writer conducts thorough research on business technologies and industry trends to enhance their understanding of technical topics. The role works collaboratively with architects, stakeholders, and teams to gather feedback and continuously improve documentation. By maintaining controlled documentation standards and promoting clear communication, the Technical Writer contributes to the overall quality, safety, and efficiency of ICT systems and processes within the organisation.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Extensive technical writing skills and comprehension ability with strong experience in writing and editing a range of high-level technical documentation.
* Proven experience in analysing and understanding operational manuals, design specifications, and technical documentation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with advanced abilities in editing and writing technical content that is accessible to non-specialists.
* Highly developed analytical and conceptual abilities, with a solid understanding of publication development principles.
* Holds a tertiary qualification in English Language, Engineering or any other relevant discipline.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
