DubboCare Family Practice is seeking a full-time receptionist to join our team. Hours 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday to FridayYour duties will include:Reception Open and/or close clinic.Greet patients and other callers at the practice in a courteous and efficient manner.Answer the telephone promptly and courteously.Schedule appointments for patients.Issue patient invoices/receipts and bulk bill as required.Enter and update patient registration details.Manage calls from patients wanting test results by referring them to the practice nurse on duty.Take prescription requestsManage calls to and from referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists, and any other third party courteously and helpfullyTo exercise confidentiality with regards to patient care and all aspects of the practice.Maintain reception area in a tidy and welcoming manner.Ensure registration forms, practice information sheets, and information displays are correct and adequately stocked.Assist doctors and nurses by making telephone calls, photocopying, etc., as requested and required.Attend to account queries if possible or refer problem to Practice Manager. Ensure patients are not required to wait excessive periods of time for an appointment, and that patients are informed of possible delays.Casual staff to "fill in" roster when full-time staff are away on holidays or sick leave (where possible)Administration Prepare and record outgoing mail and posting daily.Open and distribute incoming mail/faxes/emailsType medical reports as required.Scan and/or file patient correspondence, results daily, or as required.Ensure computer back-up hard drive is changed daily.Maintain patient information, updating current information, linking family members and unlinking independent children, archiving.Batching Medicare and Veteran's Affairs accountsProcess Banking and balance daily receiptsEnsure back-up drive is changed daily (when Practice Manager is away)Other Duties To actively participate in general staff meetings.To attend training sessions in-house and external courses when required.General housekeeping such as tidying and cleaning of waiting room when necessary.Undertake other duties as required from time to time as directed by the practice manager, nurses and doctors.Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, workplace health and safety principles including infection control.Consistently be aware of OHS requirements and comply with themThe successful applicant will be required to use Best Practice Software experience in this is beneficial but not a requirement training will be provided.
