Sitting within the Security Portfolio Management Office, this role is key to ensuring accurate budget management and financial oversight.Reporting to the Director of the Security Portfolio Section, you’ll be the go-to expert for financial reporting while also supporting broader program and project financial management.The Program Finance Officer will be responsible for the following activities associated with the role:Prepare program financial reports, program closure reports, and other required documentation, including reporting across individual DSD Capital Investment projects.Act as a key liaison for project scheduling and delivery assurance.Collaborate with the internal budget team to confirm funding requirements and ensure accurate financial reporting.Manage AUC asset financials, including capitalisation and reporting.Develop and implement financial reporting plans, strategies, and deliverables.Prepare finance reports and correspondence, providing insights and updates to Program and Project Boards.Advise and engage with stakeholders on capital financial reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and transparency.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support a smooth transition to BAU operations.Oversee financial budget management for the remaining SEP projects (Projects A & H) through to completion.Own and manage financial reporting and budgeting for the "Hardening the Diplomatic Network" program.Support broader program management and finance-related tasks as required.REQUIREMENTSExperience in Financial Management & Reporting – Proven ability to prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for large-scale programs or projects.Government or Capital Investment Experience (Desirable) – Familiarity with financial reporting and asset capitalisation within government or large infrastructure programs.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication – Strong ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, provide financial insights, and advise on reporting requirements.Project Financial Management – Understanding of financial oversight for multiple projects, including financial planning, reporting, and cost control.Strategic & Analytical Thinking – Ability to develop and implement financial reporting plans and strategies to support program success.Strong Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to ensure financial accuracy, identify risks, and provide recommendations.Ability to Work Independently & in a Team – Self-motivated with strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities.MUST BE A CITIZEN AND HOLD NV1 CLEARANCE OR HIGHERLocation: Barton, ACT 2600 (On-site role)Contract Duration: July 2025 – June 2026 (with possible 12-month extension)Hours: 37.5 hours per weekClassification: EL1Security Clearance: Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) or higherAPPLICATIONSApplicants are encouraged to submit a cover page statement of claims, commonly referred to as a ‘one-page pitch’, along with a current resume.
