Multiple opportunities exist to join Finance Division in the Queensland Police Service as a Senior Finance Officer across various teams including:
• Financial Services - providing budgeting, reporting and expert financial management advice to business areas within QPS;
• Capital & Treasury –supporting external reporting to Treasury (Tridata) and capital budget management;
• Budget and Cost Management – providing costing, modelling and reporting solutions to enhance financial management.
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Contribute to strategic and operational financial management services for the organisation and QPS business areas, including preparation of monthly financial performance results incorporating variance and trend analysis and forecasting insights.
• Coordinating the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets and forward estimates to support government and organisational priorities;
• Provide specialist input into costing and modelling activities and customised reporting solutions to support business areas and projects;
• Research matters to prepare quality reports, submissions, correspondence and briefing notes for management on financial management issues and impacts.
• Provide specialist finance advice to key internal and external stakeholders and develop strong working relationships.
• Foster teamwork and assist with the ongoing development of staff through team leadership and performance management processes.
Role Requirements:
• Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience:
There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however, the following would be highly regarded:
- Tertiary/post graduate qualifications in accounting or related disciplines
- Data analytics and modelling experience
- Experience in using SAP ECC 6.0 and Tridata.
