In this role, you'll lead the Engineering team, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards that provide exceptional experiences for both guests and team members. Job Description As Director of Engineering, you will oversee all aspects of building maintenance, from planned preventive measures to emergency repairs, ensuring our property remains in pristine condition. Your expertise will guide the effective management of outsourced services, adherence to contracts, and sustainability programs. You'll also manage utility consumption, enhance energy and water efficiency, and maintain compliance with Australian Standards and safety regulations. Your leadership will ensure our hotel's assets are optimized, and external areas are maintained to our high brand standards. Financial acumen is key as you assist in controlling expenditure and managing CAPEX projects. Your strategic oversight will be crucial in selecting suppliers, tracking project completion, and ensuring cost-effective operations. As a vital link between the engineering department and the broader hotel team, you will drive efficiency, maintain high standards, and ensure every detail contributes to an exceptional guest experience. Qualifications Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the hotel industry Relevant trade qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical services are advantageous Comprehensive understanding of fire safety systems and protocols Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively Exceptional communicator with experience managing maintenance functions in large-scale operations Ability to perform emergency maintenance outside regular working hours Strong knowledge of computer systems, financial reporting, and inventory management Why work for Accor?
