About the Role This is a Part Time Ongoing positon at 60 hours p/fortnight within the Banksia, Mental Health Ward. In this role you will collaborate with the Unit Manager by providing advanced leadership, support and guidance to the Banksia Ward. This includes ensuring clinical practice and delivery of care, reflects contemporary, trauma informed engagement with young people and families. You will have delegated responsibility from the Nurse Unit Manager to provide management and leadership to staff, ensuring clinical practice is consistent with RCH expectations of 'Great Care' and Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council standards. You will be required to rotate through all shifts- AM, PM and Night Duty, and are responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, safe and evidence-based nursing practice to facilitate optimal health outcomes for all patients. What you'll achieve: Provide and ensure clinical nursing is delivered competently with the goal for excellence in nursing care Contribute to efficient patient flow through the RCH to ensure the right patient receives the right care in the right place at the right time Maintain an environment that enables continuing professional development for self and nursing staff Actively participate in and leads continuous improvement in the ward/unit Classification for this position will range from NP83-NP74 (base salary $106,834 to $110,432 per annum, plus superannuation). About Banksia Ward, Mental Health ward Banksia, Mental Health Ward is a 16-bed inpatient unit where young people aged 13 to 18 years are assessed and treated for a range of mental and psychological disorders. The Ward provides the least restrictive environment possible while remaining compatible with the needs and safety of young people and staff. We aim to promote community management wherever possible. Banksia Ward uses a multi-disciplinary approach to assess and treat young people admitted to the Ward. The team is comprised of consultant psychiatrists, registered nurses with mental health qualifications, a psychologist, social worker, psychiatry registrar and teachers with special education qualifications.
