Position Information Ryde Public School is located in the heart of the city of Ryde and was founded in 1868. The school is currently enriched by the 518 students. 86% of our students are from language backgrounds other than English. Four students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. More than 50 language backgrounds are represented within the total enrolments in the school. The school delivers quality learning programs addressing the needs of all learners, including two Opportunity Classes for gifted students and a Diverse Learning Space with two multi-categorical, one autism and one IM class. The school oversees The North Learning Centre (Specialised behaviour and learning support for the Northern Sydney Network). The involved parent body contributes to the inclusive culture that supports all students and ensures that everyone achieves to his or her potential. Selection Criteria Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education. Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents and the wider school community. Demonstrated creative, innovative, and flexible approach to managing a stimulating library learning environment to engage all students and enhance their learning experiences. Demonstrated experience in the Library Management system used in NSW Department of Education schools to monitor and maintain school library resources including digital content such as eBooks and websites. Capacity to deliver innovative lessons to support students in learning across the curriculum whilst managing the role of Teacher Librarian. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. Special Notes If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
