Indian Food Depot Pty Ltd based in Solomontown, SA is looking for a skilled Head CHEF who can uplifts the dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality, and perseverance to thrive and manage the full kitchen in this role.
To be considered for this role you must have:
• AQF Associate Degree, Diploma or Advance Diploma.
• At least two years of relevant experience in industry in similar position.
• You must be Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have proper working rights in Australia.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Preparing and cooking food using different cooking methods and techniques.
• Explaining, implementing, and enforcing hygiene regulations and proper cleaning processes.
• Planning, organising, and participating in the preparation and cooking of food, including involvement in development of menus.
• Monitoring the quality of dishes prepared in the kitchen at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Monitoring temperature control and making sure accurate temperature logs are well maintained.
• Planning and preparing special food, e.g., cuisines, dietary and cultural needs, speciality dishes.
• Designing and executing innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
• Leading kitchen staff in maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation.
• Overseeing all kitchen operations.
• Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends.
• Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff to ensure continuity of culinary excellence.
• Receiving customer and seniors feedback and making improvements where necessary.
Key Behaviours:
• At least 2-3 years of work experience with various Indian food recipes plating styles ambience and presentation.
• Substantial background in working with tandoor and preparing delicious curries as per business menu.
• Familiar with different culinary cooking methods products and techniques.
• Organized planner of menu development focused on different food items.
• Knowledge of all continental spices and cooking tools.
• Comfortable adjusting food to taste, diet etc.
• Thrives under pressure in a high-volume food environment.
• High standard of personal hygiene.
• Excellent knowledge of relevant food and health & safety regulations
Salary – 75,000- $85,000 plus super.
