Auctioneers is looking for a Regional Sales Manager in Geelong, VIC.This role will cover Victoria and NZ regions, playing an integral leadership and strategic role in generating consignments through sales and marketing efforts, including attracting consignors, evaluating and signing deals, managing contracts, and assisting the field sales staff in attracting bidders and buyers to the Ritchie Bros. sales.Reporting to and working directly with the Director of Sales, you will take responsibility for achieving the regional targets through the development of territory sales managers, new business development, and key account management.The Opportunity:Maximizing employee engagement, cross-selling focus, and a data-enabled sales methodology is the foundation that you will set for your team’s future success. You will drive change and long-term revenue growth in a fun, collaborative, and stimulating way.Your team will consist of Territory Managers and Territory Sales Support who together serve the used equipment sales market. Both on a team and individual level, you will coach team members on how to further develop their skills. By educating the team with presentations of strategies, plans, seminars, and regular meetings, you strive for a learning environment.Your daily focus will be to align between your short- and long-term forecast and the Area Managers' local sales plans, all the while leveraging the support our Strategic Accounts group has to offer.You will be accountable for:Planning, developing, and executing the annual regional sales plan (Playbooks), sales growth strategies, and tactics to deliver annual targets and longer-term regional financial growth.Formulating and executing marketing strategies, objectives, and initiatives in close collaboration with Sales management and our marketing team.Managing deal strategy and approvals, balancing risk on deals including the consideration of longer-term implications, resolving/approving value debt issues.Participating in the preparation and presentation of some large customer deals.Developing a strong partnership, as a “win team,” with the Operations Management Team and having regular meetings to review overall financial performance for the region and develop and implement improvement initiatives.Here’s what you bring:Coaching, learning, and change are at the core of your leadership style. Achieving results together and leveraging each person’s strong points is what you excel at.Furthermore, you have:Extensive experience in managing and coaching a field sales team in a quota-driven business environment.Knowledge of or experience with various construction, agricultural, or transportation-related equipment/vehicles.Experience in implementing change management-related initiatives.A proven consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.This role will require you to spend time away traveling overnight to various parts of your region and throughout Australia to meet with customers, assist your Territory Sales Managers in their development, and attend leadership meetings.
