THey prepare and deliver planning outcomes for a range of private, government and institutional clientsTHE ROLEThis position of Town Planner is responsible for helping to meet the needs of our clients. You will liaise with clients and project consultants in relation to planning projects, prepare written advice and responses to representations, and attend meetings and consultation sessions as required. This role requires you to be a team player, exhibit strong collaboration skills and take direction from the Directors/Business Manager and Manager – Town Planner. DUTIES Prepare, coordinate and/or manage Development Applications or planning advice Write planning reports, policy submissions, and respond to authority information requests on behalf of clients to obtain necessary environmental/planning approvals Attend and contribute to community consultation activities Make recommendations to guide decisions on a variety of planning matters and to proactively be involved in resolving issues in a team environment Prepare quotes for projects under the guidance of Manager – Town Planner Prepare reports on assessment and regulatory matters Maintain and enhance relationships with valued clients and stakeholders Attend site visits, and client and authority meetings Monitor and keep up to date with relevant legislation and ensure compliance of all projects with federal, state, and local regulations ABOUT YOU At least 2 years' experience in town planning related field Working knowledge of development assessment and environmental planning legislation Technical knowledge and experience related to relevant Acts and statutory controls Demonstrated experience dealing with a broad range of clients and community representatives in a courteous and professional manner Demonstrated experience recording and maintaining accurate information in an information management system Commitment to workplace change and improvement Class C Drivers Licence Computer proficiency with MS Office Adherence to WHS and EEO principles and practices
