This role will also be responsible for the accounting of DTP assets including maintenance of the asset register and relevant valuation under current accounting standards.Position OutcomesThis role ensures the accurate accounting treatment, capitalisation, valuation, and reporting of DTP assets while maintaining compliance with financial standards and addressing audit requirements. It involves preparing timely financial reports, maintaining asset records, and delivering best-practice financial management policies to minimize risks and support operational efficiency.Key Selection CriteriaKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSFinancial Accounting and Statutory Reporting – Excellent understanding and knowledge of contemporary AASB standards, Financial Reporting Directions, and other accounting government guidelines, and their application in the context of the Department and Whole of Government.People Management – Ensures staff are productively deployed through effective workforce planning practices. Translates organisational strategy into workforce requirements (e.g., roles, team structures, capabilities). Takes actions to optimise workforce effectiveness.Finance Operations and Systems – Extensive experience in establishing and managing general ledger, month-end journal preparation, and account reconciliations. Understanding of the financial management and accounting for significant complex infrastructure assets and associated valuation issues.
