At Anduril Australia, we are developing unmanned systems for subsurface and other domains that will leverage unsupervised autonomy for the delivery of long endurance, multi-mission capability to our customers. These projects, including but not limited to the Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program, require Senior Mechanical Engineers with broad experience to drive the delivery of a variety of software-enabled hardware capabilities to our customers. Anduril Mechanical Engineers rapidly develop expertise in new domains to architect, design, deliver, support, and evolve next-generation capabilities through the entire product life-cycle.WHAT YOU'LL DOOwn the physical design, prototyping, and fabrication of robotic systems deployed to customers, focused on delivering value to the end-userAct as a subject matter expert for your areas of expertise related to the delivery of Anduril’s technology capabilities, including motor and actuator selection, transmission design, layout, prototype fabrication, integration, and testingDesign and perform structural, modal, and dynamic analyses on critical mechanical systemsDesign, prototype, and build complex mechanisms and actuated mechanical systemsDesign and implement integrated systems, including advanced and sensitive platforms and payloads, that rapidly deliver capability beyond current systems, with a clear path for both architecture and capability evolution over timeEmpathize with end-users and drive solutions balancing their needs with external constraints, restrictions, and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environmentContribute to the design and development of technology components across Anduril, aiming to develop components reusable across multiple product linesContribute to the design, implementation, and execution of development processes for the initial delivery and subsequent iteration of complex robotic systems, including full lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operationSupport vehicle and payload manufacturing, testing, and deploymentTravel to co-locate with end-users, vendors, or the integration and test team up to 20% of the timeWork as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, including mentoring Engineers from differing backgroundsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, a relevant field, or equivalent experienceProfessional experience working as a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer with one or more domains and/or technologies of expertiseCapacity to work holistically on complex robotic systems across design, implementation, operation, and sustainmentCapacity to act as the technical contributor for a complex subsystem, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolutionCapacity to learn and grow individually, building team cohesion and capacityAbility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security ClearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with the design, implementation, and support of robotic and/or autonomous systemsExperience working within the defense, maritime, and/or aerospace domainsExperience with SolidWorks and TeamcenterExperience with finite element analysis of complex structural assemblies, including aluminum and composite structuresExperience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, and/or additive manufacturingExperience within the product delivery lifecycle including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainmentDesire to learn and grow into other roles requiring experience as a Mechanical Engineer, such as Senior Mechanical or Systems EngineerAnduril is an equal-opportunity employer, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. If you are someone passionate about working on problems that matter, we’d love to hear from you!
