Role
This role plays a key role in the administrative duties within the Houses, communication with parents and students, and supports the operations of the House. The role reports to the Assistant Principal - House Leader.
Responsibilities
Assisting the House Leadership Team with administrative tasks
Attending to student enquiries within the House
Administering late passes to students arriving late and early leave passes to students wishing to leave early
Entering late and early leave data through the school’s computer system (Compass)
Preparation of reports through Compass that summarise students absent that day
Monitoring and reporting on patterns of lateness and absences by students and advising the House Leadership Team using the House Attendance Tracking Tool
Notifying parents by phone of student absences each day and entering the data on Compass
Maintaining student house records and data
Overseeing the work of the student administration assistants each day
Supporting the monitoring of house maintenance and cleanliness
Supporting the administration of course enrolment processes

Location Profile
Established in 1919, Dandenong High School is one of the oldest, largest and most culturally diverse secondary schools in the state. It is situated in the South East Region in Dandenong, a low socio-economic community with a high refugee population. The school has over 1500 students and is highly multicultural with 78 nationalities and 80 different language groups represented.
The school has an innovative approach to curriculum with a collaborative learning model in Years 7 to 9. Students learn in groups with teams of teachers and electronic curriculum frameworks are available for each subject and year level. There is a focus on discovery-based learning, problem solving and inquiry.
Dandenong High School has an Accelerated Learning Program in years 7 to 10 and offers a wide range of electives and extensive curriculum opportunities in the senior years. The Trade Training Centre provides opportunities for Year 9 - 10 students to select industry tasters in state of the art facilities.
