Cisco is looking for a Solutions Engineer to join the newly formed ANZ Compute and Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure (CAI) team. In this role you will be responsible for developing technical relationships with our ANZ Federal Government and Defence customers; your ultimate aim…to become a trusted advisor who not only consults on technical design and architectures but influences technology transformation decisions and direction.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will work closely with various account teams to discover, define, develop and design Compute and AI Infrastructure solutions to meet customer’s business needs. As a bonus, you will work with outstanding people in product development and collaborate with peers to teach and enable the greater ANZ presales organisation.

Our Solutions Engineers are vital members of the organisation who develop technical solutions to help our customers achieve their business outcomes using Cisco's data centre and AI infrastructure portfolio. Industry leading development programs ensure you will become and remain a technical authority who is entrusted to guide and educate our customers towards building technical solutions that drive innovation within their companies.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
1. 6+ years of technical presales experience selling Data Centre and Hybrid Cloud solutions including Compute and Data Centre Switching.
2. Deep understanding of Data Centre network and compute architectural designs.
3. Deep knowledge of Data Centre enterprise applications, virtualisation technologies and operational toolsets.
4. Excellent presentation skills - ability to deliver engaging workshops to both technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Currently hold or are able to qualify for an Australian Government Security clearance through AGSVA (must be an Australian Citizen)
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
6. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus.
7. Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP or CCIE)
8. Knowledge of Cisco Nexus, ACI and UCS solutions.
9. Understanding of AI architectures and infrastructure products.
10. Experience designing Converged infrastructure and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions.
11. Proficiency with automation tool sets (Ansible, Terraform) with a strong focus on DC switching and compute.
12. Foundational software development skills e.g. Python
13. Experience with public cloud service providers and engaging with Defence and Federal Government customers, as well as technology partners.
14. Demonstrates proactive leadership with a team-oriented attitude.
15. Self-starter who can lead opportunities without close supervision
16. Hold a continuous learning philosophy, able to navigate ambiguity and complex customer challenges.
17. Cultivates relationships within multiple layers of an organisation and promotes an "I can" attitude.
18. Creative problem solver who enjoys asking "imagine if…" questions and is willing to take calculated risks.
