The PositionAn exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time or part-time Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join the team at a North West Queensland hospital.You will be based at the main referral centre within the North West Hospital and Health Service. Patients from other facilities across the north west region who require specialist treatment and care are referred to either the hospital or to other major hospitals within Queensland. This is a great opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest to you within anaesthesia (including obstetrics and regional), ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing. Alongside providing training to anaesthetic trainees and other health professionals and ensure continued evidence-based practice.Health ServiceThe health service is responsible for the public sector health services in the North West region. Covering an area of approximately 300,000 square kilometres and services many of the remote communities within North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Health Service is responsible for the promotion and wellbeing of people within the service area and ensuring that health services are of a high quality, accessible to all and effective. Currently all anaesthetic services are provided at Mt Isa Hospital. Rugged beauty and boundless opportunities.Essential CriteriaCurrent registration with or/eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia Skills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthesia for obstetrics. The successful applicant will be appointed between classifications Level 18 to Level 27 in accordance with Annexure B – Classification Structure.This position requires the incumbent to operate a "C" class vehicle, and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty. The position may require travel by commercial or charter plane and/or vehicle to other Hospital/s and/or Health Centre/s dependent on travel requirements.The PackagePermanent full-time, part-time or casual opportunities available.
