This is a part-time position, ongoing at 20 hours per week, with a requirement to work Monday - Sunday as rostered. We have positions available in either our Warragul, Sale, or Latrobe Valley Community Teams.An Integrated Mental health and Alcohol and Drug (MHAOD) Carer Lived Experience Worker (CLEW) draws on their life-changing experiences of caring for and supporting a loved one through mental health and substance use challenges, service use, and recovery to offer peer support to other carers, families, and supporters while their relative or friend is engaged with Latrobe Regional Health's community mental health and wellbeing service.About youCertificate IV in Peer Work, Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training, or willing to obtain while working.An established network of peers or links with mental health and/or AOD peer networks or support services.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.You will have a lived experience of your own receiving service and support for your own AOD/mental health, and you will have a deep understanding of the issues and concerns experienced by people experiencing AOD and mental health challenges.You will have a rich understanding of the processes of personal recovery, the vital role that the service and lived experience can play in supporting someone's recovery journey, and the importance of recognising and supporting the wellbeing of consumers themselves.This is an exciting opportunity to build and advance your career.
