We are seeking an experienced and passionate Program Lead to join our Animal Studies department, leading a team of teachers across our Broadmeadows and Bendigo campuses. This key leadership position will be responsible for coordinating, designing, developing, and continuously improving our vocational education and training programs in Animal Studies. You will lead the individuals in your team with care and empathy but keep a focus on delivering an exceptional student experience.
As Program Lead, you will ensure our programs meet industry and learner expectations while driving quality education experiences through your team. You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing industry partnerships, supervising teaching staff, and contributing to teaching as required.
Key Responsibilities Lead excellence in education delivery and ethical practices for Animal Studies programs Oversee the design, delivery, and learning materials ensuring they meet industry and learner expectations Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies in delivery, assessment, and learning modes Ensure compliance with National VET Quality standards and relevant legislation Lead teacher recruitment and provide comprehensive induction programs Lead a team of approximately 10 teachers across Broadmeadows and Bendigo campuses Ensure appropriate workload allocation and scheduling of teaching staff Build team capability and foster a culture of sustained high performance Support professional development of teaching staff Manage performance and conduct regular reviews Support forecasting of financial, enrolment, and other targets Ensure programs meet financial and enrolment targets Identify innovations, cost reductions, and growth opportunities Schedule and allocate teachers to courses and classes Lead change projects across the team Create and grow partnerships across the animal care industry Ensure product offerings have industry input and validation Maintain relationships with Animal Welfare Victoria and other key stakeholders Collaborate with external stakeholders to identify changing requirements Represent BKI professionally, promoting our values internally and externally About You
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
A vocational qualification in Animal Studies or related field Current Vocational Educational and Training (VET) Diploma (TAE50116, TAE50216 or TAE50122) or higher qualification Proven experience in the animal care industry Previous management experience, either in industry or educational settings Strong understanding of animal welfare principles, animal ethics and regulations Knowledge of Animal Welfare Victoria requirements and frameworks Current Working with Children Check and successful completion of a National Police Check Current and valid Victorian driver's license Desirable Skills & Attributes Experience with online Learning Management Systems Knowledge of veterinary software including Vet Radar and EasyVet Excellent organizational skills and ability to bring structure to the working environment Strategic thinking and planning capabilities Strong relationship building and influencing skills Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal Problem-solving skills demonstrated through critical thinking Confident and flexible approach to work #J-18808-Ljbffr
