Sales Representative – New Zealand Hop Products Australia (HPA) is Australia’s largest hop producer; growing, processing and packaging hops for brewers around the world. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Representative to support our expanding presence in New Zealand (NZ). Reporting to the ANZ Sales Manager, and working closely with the Sales and Marketing team, this role focuses on generating credible leads, building strong relationships, and closing deals across all product categories. You will be the primary contact for our NZ brewing customers, delivering exceptional service and driving growth in the region. This is a remote, home-based role, permanent full-time or 4 days per week, for candidates in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or Gold Coast with direct flights to Auckland. Responsibilities include Represent HPA’s products and services through comprehensive knowledge of how our solutions meet the needs of our brewing customers. Collaborate with the ANZ Sales Manager to plan and execute pricing and order fulfilment for NZ brewing customers, ensuring strategic alignment of hop supply and technical support. Achieve sales goals by successfully assessing brewing customer needs, following a defined selling process, and implementing sales and marketing strategies and tactics. Maintain working relationships with existing brewing customers to ensure they receive exceptional service, proactively identify their needs and creating customer road maps. Identify prospects, set appointments, make effective sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all product categories. Prepare concise and accurate call reports and other required documentation for leadership-level presentations. Maintain proactive customer communication and update records regularly to support Supply Chain and Marketing operations. Align communications with key messaging, collaborate with management, production and supply chain to manage customer expectations, follow up post-delivery to ensure satisfaction and collect feedback. Deliver professional presentations and attend networking events and trade shows. About you We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of brewing and the beer industry, who is able to promote our hop products and services in a compelling way. Ideally, you will have existing industry contacts in NZ and some familiarity with the market. Importantly, you will be an excellent communicator who can nurture strong relationships with our brewing customers. Other key attributes are: Commercial beer brewing experience, or a background in brewing sales or brewery supply. Good balance of personability and persuasiveness with proactivity and professionalism. Able to liaise with peers and manage those relationships effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiating, presentation and organisational skills. Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and MYOB EXO or equivalent sales management software and CRM, or ability to acquire these skills quickly. Current driver’s license. Willingness to be in the field in NZ no less than 40 business days per year, plus 1 week on HPA farms for harvest every March, 1 week in Hobart every December, and 3 days in Melbourne for the AIBAs every May. Other travel commitments such as trade shows and sales roadshows will also arise from time to time. You will need to hold a current passport to enable you to travel internationally between Australia and New Zealand, or be able to attain one if you’re the successful applicant Desirable: formal brewing education qualifications, and/or sales education and experience.
