About the position
This position is an integral part of the Operations team. As our Maintenance Technician, you will ensure production plant and equipment within the Goodwill engineering factory is maintained, and in continual and safe operation.
You will further assist with the modification of machinery to enable a person with a disability to operate it in a safe and effective manner. The Maintenance Technician also works with and supervises employees with disabilities working in a commercial setting to carry out a variety of tasks.
The Maintenance Technician will:
* Carry out regular inspections and maintenance on machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures to ensure they operate at their optimum output and safe requirements.
* Report of upcoming required repairs via Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
* Assist employees with any needs associated with production and safety.
* Retooling of machinery to adapt to customer order requirements.
* Implement and facilitate upgrades to machinery to improve safety and performance.
* Supervise and train employees on the use of machinery where required.
* Assist with the enhancement of the production process where required.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
* Assist Goodwill Engineering in complying with ISO-relevant procedures and instructions.

About You
* Significant experience working in similar roles such as tool maker, machinist, and fabricator.
* Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in areas such as welding, fabrication, and tool making.
* Personal or professional experience of working/living with people with disabilities.
* A valid forklift license and the ability to operate a forklift is highly desirable.
* Laser cutter experience highly desirable.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Team-player and well-developed relationship building skills.
* Planning and prioritisation skills.
* Understanding of and commitment to the principles of the NDIS and the philosophy of Community Inclusion and Quality & Safeguarding Framework.
* National Police Clearance no older than 6 months, Has the right to work in Australia, Current and Valid ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence, NDIS Workers Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening check, Working with Children Check and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
