St Joseph's Special Assistance School – Melton VIC
Instructional Leader Wellbeing – BlendED (based in Melton/Regional)
The newly named Saints College - BlendED Campus, currently St Joseph’s School, is seeking an experienced Youth Worker to join their school community.
Since 2012, we have led the way in radically inclusive education, supporting students with diverse challenges. We are an inclusive school for 12–25-year-olds seeking an alternative to mainstream education. Our environment celebrates all abilities and backgrounds, providing transformative learning experiences catering to individual needs.
We operate multiple campuses located in North Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. In 2025, we will expand our offerings with the opening of three new campuses in Fitzroy North, Sunshine, and Bungaree, as part of our growth strategy to establish additional campuses in the future.
The young people we serve often face significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal, or familial challenges, which demand unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation by Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices.
BlendED is an innovative program designed for young people who are disengaged from traditional education settings and struggling to engage outside of the home or with community or education. This Victorian-first education model combines online individualised learning with in-person wellbeing support to meet their complex needs.
Young people engage in 20 hours of online classes weekly, including group sessions and one-on-one teacher time, with a flexible approach to accommodate individual circumstances. Social engagement is fostered through regular gatherings for picnics, games, and activities every fortnight, helping students make new friends and rediscover their interests. Additionally, wellbeing workers visit young people weekly to provide support, including counselling and assistance with basic needs, ensuring they have the resources to navigate their unique challenges and achieve their educational goals.
